I'll bet that some of you didn't like that opening statement. While
it's totally true, clear and direct it doesn't foster much rapport. Yet

Training WILL out over the reptilian brain every time IF the training
is done properly. Ask anyone who has actually been through a REAL
combat training program and then been in a REAL shooting scrape. The
FREEZE FRAME, which is hard wired into the Reptilian portion of the
brain CAN be overridden by TRAINING the higher cortical! Or anyone who
has successfully completed the bulletman hand-to-hand combatives
program, for that matter.

Indeed - if Ed had it RIGHT, it would be impossible for the Mounted
Cavalry to ever be formed, and Alexandar would have never become Great,
because the horse's natural and wise instinct is to RUN AWAY from a
war, not to charge fleetly in!

But that's ok, because nobody would've ever been able to invent the
modern PHALANX, either, and Rome would've never been built.

Ed didn't actually fall too far away from the tree ... he was actually
too scared to go UP it, to begin with!
