Default why study nlp

Why do people study nlp? I realize you can't always ask the question
why- unless you want to look deep into something. I think the reason I
studied nlp is that it was interesting, it was fun, and it will prove
to be useful and profitable in business and in life. But I can express
the reason so much better after I read something from Robert Kiyosaki:

Words are leverage and words is free.

You don't have to have good credit to make use of this free form of
leverage. There is no price for using this form of leverage, but there
is a cost in not using it, as napoleon hill would say. Just because you
are using it does not mean you are "taking advantage" of someone or
group. In fact, it could be leverage, but it could be leverage to get
yourself into a situation of win-win

It is both leverage in self-talk and in interpersonal communication. I
wish I didn't have any self talk, but I know that everybody does have a
voice in their head that tells them where to go and what to do.
Kiyosaki says to never say to yourself or anybody "I can't afford it".
Instead, ask "how could I afford it". This is an example of good use of
leverage for word and relation to thought and later result or outcome.

You can get leverage on yourself through better thinking habits, and
you can get leverage in business or relationship communication through
understanding language, things like the meta model and the milton
model. That is why I study nlp

thoughts? Of course, on the topic of leverage, there are other forms-
the leverage of relationships, of other people's money, the leverage of
integrity- none of which are directly related to language. you have to
study other subjects. but the leverage of words is why I study nlp
