Well after ten years in the wildreness I poped back up saying "yeah it is wierd how little free information is handed out about NLP". Now it's looking like the problem is more one of sorting out how to index all the good free information that is available. There are support lists for free, audio files that I'me going to have to get more bandwith just to quickly preview, articles on various aspects and applications of nlp. <shrugs> just like me to dive into something thinking it will be a quick trip and then come out spluttering, awash with more information than I can process quickly. On a more personal note, http://www.nlpca.com/links.htm (includes multi national reasources) http://www.nlpinfo.com/ (also has multi lingual links) (good introductory essay) If the multi linguals amongst us can check those out that would be a service that I am unable to provide. |

Yeah, actually there are literally volumes of information about NLP freely available on the net. Once you know where to look, separating the wheat from the chaff is really more of the challenge. One significant resource you might want to reference is on Robert Dilts site, http://www.nlpu.com , where he offers his and Judith DeLozier's 'The Encyclopedia of Systemic NLP and New Code NLP' on-line for viewing. You are limited to 25 page views per day, but it's a great reference and I'm amazed he put it on line at all and with no registration necessary. There are also numerous NLP discussion groups at groups.yahoo.com. As many of them are moderated, the signal to noise ratio tends to be better than on Usenet. Of course, off line, libraries make most of the major NLP works available for anyone wanting to read up without an initial cash investment. Combine that with practise groups and you can explore NLP without having to spend money on practitioner's courses until you're *sure* that it's a route you want to take. I think that is one aspect NLP has going for it. Since it sprung from Academia (although Bandler might be loathe to admit it... ), thereis a significant amount of material available without having to go to a single source for the information. It is becoming a legitimate 'field' rather than just the work of a few people, and therefore it is disseminating itself as any other field of knowledge does, via a plethora of sources. Combine that with the '90% of everything is crap' paradigm and I think you'll find that NLP is not unlike a huge field of manure with some gems scattered around for you to pick up and some of them are free! Just wipe the crap off before you pocket the gems and you're good. Oh, and Cameron, thanks for taking the time to put together a positive addition to this group's resources. Be Well, Michael Perez |
