Default Looking for an NLP technique

Hi, I'm looking for a NLP technique and I'm hoping some of you more
knowledgable folks can assist me.

If you have a fixation on an object that is unhealthy and you want to
stop your fixation on that object and replace it with a more healthier
object, but you don't specifically want to transfer the feelings of
fixation from the first object to the second more preferable object,
which NLP techniques would aid in this?

Eg. say someone strongly identifies with their mother but desires to
instead identify with their father.

All help is appreciated. Thanks.

to add to this I'm also very interested in NLP techniques that can be
used to overcome an unresolved oedipus complex in an adult male.

Thanks.

How specifically does this fixation manifest in the first place
and what behaviours give it continuity??

that is unhealthy and you want to

3d Mind people, lets let the nlp crowd handle this first, let's watch
them do their magic, then when they fail and they will fail, let's
lend a hand.
